We’re constantly getting new rumors surrounding the next DLC fighter for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
The second installment of the Fighters’ Pass DLC Pack is currently under way, and there are still a lot of unknowns out there. While there seems to be new rumors sprouting up constantly, very few of them end up being true.
One of the most popular ongoing rumors dating back to the first Fighters Pass DLC was the addition of Geno from Super Mario RPG. This is a supremely popular character from the equally popular Super Nintendo RPG title, so people really wanted to believe this one when it came roaring back into the public eye recently.
A post on 4Chan from back in July claimed that Geno was coming to Smash at long last.
However, much like a Batman villain, this nefarious faker left a clue to solving their crime. When you put the first letter from each sentence of the post together, it spelled the word FAKE.
This leak went way further than just saying that Geno was coming to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. It also claimed that a new Kirby came was coming soon and that a Kingdom Hearts port was on its way to Nintendo Switch. Another rumor posted in this same message was a new Hyrule Warriors type game based on Legend of Zelda: Breath of The Wild.
Heads up, this is a fake 4chan post saying that Geno would be some sort of bonus character.
It even spells FAKE with the first of each letter.

You’re probably thinking, wait a minute, a new Kirby game actually did come out (Kirby Fighters 2) and Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity was announced! So, does that mean Geno actually is coming to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate?
Alas, no. The original post may have been from back in July, but the fake leaker eventually admitted that they went back and edited the original post after those games were announced as a way of making their fake leaks seem more true.
We’re dealing with a true criminal mastermind here.
When found out, the faker responded with, “…Huh. Kind of surprised no one caught the joke.”
That means Geno will not be coming to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. While Super Mario RPG is beloved by many, it seems a far cry that a character from a game released 24 years ago would be coming to the Smash Roster.
However, it should be noted that Mr. Sakurai, the creator and director of the Super Smash Bros. series, has stated that Geno was an idea that was tossed around in the past.
