Meghan Markle And Prince Harry May Receive Reduced Payments For Speaking Engagements Due To Pandemic

Page Six says Meghan Markle and Prince Harry may have a reduced paycheck this year. Earlier in 2019, it was reported that the couple would be paid anywhere between $750,000 to $1 million for future speaking engagements.

However, as a result of their “strict demands,” the couple won’t make as much money, the outlet reported. The Sun claimed this week that Harry and Meghan coming onto the speaker circuit is truly a big moment, compared only to the likes of some of the biggest stars to ever do it.

The source compared the power couple to Arnold Schwarzenegger or President Obama, in terms of their influence on popular culture. What’s special about Meghan and Harry is they both come from entirely different backgrounds, and they resonate with people all over the world, the source explained.

Before the pandemic, it was estimated they would earn nearly a million dollars for speaking engagements, but now, they might earn just $250,000 or $400,000. Apparently, it’s not because of the pandemic that their earnings will be down.

The source says that the contract paperwork appears to show that Meghan and Harry will only speak if they control the event. This may be a big problem for companies and corporations who have the money to pay for their speeches.

One source from the Harry Walker Agency Virtual Event Request Form claimed that Meghan and Harry’s demands are totally unlike other celebrity figures. The insider says 99% of speakers would never make such demands.

Reportedly, speakers have the right to make certain demands, but the types of standards Meghan and Harry have asked for are unparalleled, even in comparison to American presidents. The expert went on to say they understood why Meghan and Harry have approached it in such a manner, however.

To ask sponsors and corporations for more information about the event, and also to ensure the event will make money, is just a way for them to kick back money to charities and other organizations. The source says the last thing the couple wants is to be associated with something that isn’t successful.

According to the insider, Meghan and Harry will also probably turn down many offers for speaking engagements, choosing only the best ones.
