At this point in time, Gwen Stefani is planning her wedding to Blake Shelton, even though they are not in a huge hurry to tie the knot because of the pandemic. That being said, she has one thing in mind that she must have at the nuptials so that it’s all perfect!
As it turns out, no matter the situation in the world, Gwen does not want to say ‘I do’ unless her parents, Dennis and Patti, can be there to witness it!
While a guest of On Air with Ryan Seacrest, the singer revealed this and more about her future plans for her dream wedding!
At some point amid the chat, the host wondered: ‘In a post-pandemic world, would you prefer a smaller ceremony or a larger wedding?’
Since having her family there is what matters the most to Gwen, she responded that ‘I would say I just want my parents there at this point. My parents wouldn’t come to Thanksgiving because they were so scared (about the COVID-19 pandemic), so really would rather it not be a COVID situation. I would rather not have masks and that kind of thing.’
The star went on to explain that even if she and Blake decided to only have family members at their wedding and not invite any friends, the gathering would still surpass the maximum number of people permitted in one place amid the pandemic.
‘Even when you cut it down to family, its too many people for COVID. So we’re sort of going to see what happens in the next few months,’ she shared, suggesting that the couple will wait until things come back to normal to get married.
Gwen and Blake got engaged back in October, after five years of blissful dating.
With that being said, it appears that for them, getting married ASAP is not that important since their relationship is perfect as it is already.
