However, for the record, the Ni-mH battery reduces its quality by time and of course causing depending on your rechargeable batteries.

You can even find a good piano teacher who is well-experienced but do not have a professional degree.
  • Provide them a functional piano at home. For kids beginning piano lessons, you can also opt for a less costly best digital piano and later can go for something more expensive as you find that your child is taking interest and is progressing.

Well, there are many articles talking about this problem but I found them not too clear about the body styles and the pickups, which are one of the most important criteria when looking for an electric guitar. Check this out if you don’t really know what body style suits you the most or what type of pick up to choose.

electronic guitars

Based on body type, guitars are divided into three main categories: hollow, semi-hollow and solid. Sure we know the clear distinctions of the three, but the biggest impact that is relevant to how each type of guitar will sound like. In general, most are suitable for any kind of music but some are designed especially for specific genres.

  • Hollow Body

The hollow body, just like its name: it is completely hollow inside, is the original design of electric guitars. The great Charlie Christian and Eddie DurhamHollow-bodied guitars have laid their handson the Gibson ES-150 in their jazz songs, even though it is also famous with folk, country, rock and roll musicians. The hollow body is very good at providing warm and mellow tones, so if you are looking for these, then this is the one for you. But don’t think hollow-bodied electric guitars can’t give raunchy and sweet distortion, in fact, they do that very well. So in conclusion, a proper hollow body guitar can help youto produce great classic blues or rock sound.

  • Solid Body

This is by far the most common body type in the world, and maybe the most iconic ever made. Solid-body guitars are designed to handle the widest range of tones, reduce feedback and increase sustain thanks to their construction. This style is like, born to play incrdebly well rock and alternative music. Howerver, even if you can’t make up your mind of what type of music you are going to play, it’s not likely that you will pick up the wrong one.

  • Semi-Hollow Body

Like a mix between hollow and solid body guitars, semi-hollows are made like this: hollow inside but still have a solid wood block running through the center of the body. This design achieves is meant to increase the sustain and reduced feedback of solid-bodied guitars, as well as retaine the mellow tones of hollow-bodied guitars. This is why semi-hollow guitars have become extremely popular with blues musicians such as Freddie King and Chuck Berry. The combination between mellow and sweet, crunchy and awesome sounds makes these kind of guitars become the king of classic sound.

2.     PICKUPS

The pickup is one of major fators that make produce the sound of the guitar. Simple explanation, it is a magnet that is wrapped around by a coil of wire which receives strings vibration and then transfers it into electrical signals that can be amplified as a sound at the end.

Normally, there are two main types of pickups: single coil and double coil (or humbicker).

Single coil pickups are made up of a single wire coil, representing the simplest form of pickup technology nowadays. Single coils brings about punchy, bright sound with the drawback that tends to make a lot of noises under the form of a hum.

The dual coil or humbucker, which is said to “buck the hum” common in single coil pickups. Like the name, it’s about two single coil pickups are set together to help a richer, more powerful tone that has no extra noise. While it is said to be the last choice of them all, since many players prefer the brighter, punchier tone that single coils bring back.

5 mistakes you should avoid when learning to play guitar

1. Self-learning To Play The Guitar. Many people try hard to learn how to play the guitar themselves. Well, it’s true that some really (maybe) study it on them own, but I don’t think following that way is a good idea, even if your favorite guitarist learnt himself. Maybe you are totally capable if building an effective training strategy by yourself and that’s absolutely great. However, like I said, it’s not likely that everyone has the gift inside them. Most of us cannot do it alone because it is simply so hard, time-consuming and stressful. Some people even proudly claim that they are self taught players, thinking it is a way to impress others but they are wrong. You SHOULD NOT make the same mistake. Let’s just say, which one do you prefer? A nonsense statement about your guitar training or a performance that shows off your guitar skill? Honestly, I don’t find anything good about self taught, but I’m not criticizing anyone, please understand. It just appears to me that any lessons need a teacher, even playing the guitar. There are many skills and tips that we only can learn from the master.

2. Taking Guitar Lessons From Ineffective Guitar Teachers. Unfortunately, most electric guitar learner receive no guitar skill from their teachers. Even worse, the vast majority of teachers show little or no interest in improving their guitar teaching skills. This is real guys, you can read it online. Well of course some highly effective electric guitar teachers exist and keep teaching, but still there are a number of ineffective teachers. This sounds like you spend a bunch of money hiring someone to teach you but end up learning it yourself and this just won’t work.

3. Looking For New Guitar Info (tricks, tips) Without A Verified Strategy To Reach Your Specific Goals.  Yes, it’s true that we’ve got to have information, help, advice to play music. But without a specific “verified” strategy, you will mess up in anytime. That’s the first thing to do, set up or look for a proven strategy, which is relevant and suitable for you skill level, your style. After following it for quite sometimes, that you have got used to practicing according to a specific schedule, now it’s the time to learn the right info.
4. Unsure About What You Really Want To Play. A vast majority of guitar players know little about what they’d like to be able to do with their guitar. Imagine, if you yourself don’t know then how are you gonna figure out your training schedule? How would your teacher be able to teach you the specific skills required if you don’t have a specific idea? Sure there are basic things that help you to get better in general, and common strategies that allow you to gain more knowledge and skills, but they are not specialized enough. Not to mention this will take much more time for you to success and reach your goals, as well as the training may brings you frustration sometimes because of its ineffectiveness.

5. Not Focus Enough On What Matter Most To Make You A Better Guitarist. I’m sure you all have been here a few times: practice so hard but not really pay attention to what skills or lessons that can speed up your progress. Because you really do not understand and apply this concept correctly. Some teacher will neglect the core of the lesson they are teaching: what plays the most important job. This result in many students making their progress slowly and frustratedly, some even quit their study. So, make sure you get to know what is the main problem of your lesson and master them, before going any further.

You must be a beginner, because you are reading my article. In this topic I will show you how to use your guitar basically. Warning, this is very, extremely basic, so you may find it bored to skim. Try to read as much as you can, since I’m giving you all my experiences, of acoustic guitar only. Feel free to share~

Use Acoustic Guitar

  1. Name the parts of a guitar.

You think this is funny? Yeah, it is but you will need it to discuss with other guitarist about your instrument. Normally, it is comprised of:

Headstock: head of the guitar, where all strings end. Here, you would find the machine heads which are used to tune your guitar. Lower, at which the head stock ends you would see a slotted piece of wood, called the ‘nut’, used to connect headstock with the ‘neck’.

Neck: This long thin wooden piece is a major components of your guitar, with one flat side right under the strings named ‘fretchboard’, are marked so that you can find out where you are on the board. On this area, you will also see ‘frets’, running over the width of fingerboard, raising bits of strings to give exact half notes.

Sound hole: At the end of the neck, you meet the sound whole where sounds resonate.

  1. Hold it right:

Many beginners who take online class are not taught how to hold a guitar correctly. You’re lucky I decide to share it with you .

Casual style: If you’re right-handed, set your guitar on your right leg. You can use a footstools (about 15-20$ at the music store), no matter style you are following. The footstool raise your leg, which makes the guitar fit into a better position, especially for long periods of playing or practicing. One common mistake of newbie guitar players is to slouch the guitar in towards them so as to see their fingers, but they don’t know it makes bad posture and practice routine since it tires player. Instead, make sure you place the guitar upright and straight. Or, you can tighten your strumming arm around the guitar to keep it close. This prevents the guitar from slipping away and make good position.

Classical style: Move the footstool to your left foot, if you’re right-handed, then rest your guitar on your left leg. This brings up the neck further to the left and raises it more, which makes it easier for you to reach all the notes on the fingerboard. This style of holding a guitar can be harder for longer sessions, but I have a tips here, use a strap to help hold the guitar up, but easy for you to reach the notes.

  1. Tune it:

You need to have a guitar with correct tune or else it is extremely hard for you to play.

First off, you need to learn the strings name. From thickest to thinnest strings, also lowest to high pitch, are E, A, D, G, B and E. In music store, they sell an equipment called electric tuner that helps you do this easier. It has a micro to tell you if the sound created is too high or too low. Tighten the string to make the pitch higher, and vice versa. If you cannot finr a tuner, you can compare your pitch to one of another well tuned guitar, or to the piano notes.
